An Academy of Medical Royal
Colleges project led by the RCSEd to develop system
interoperability and best practice standards for medical
ePortfolios, the project has a large representation from
specialties in Medicine with RCSEd, RCSEng, RCPLond, RCGP and
RCOpth directly involved in the project together with a number of
Portfolio supplier organisations and representation from JISC CETIS
(Centre for Educational Technology and Interoperability Standards).
The aim is to develop an initial set of ePortfolio standards to
encourage modularisation of systems and secure interoperability
between ePortfolio systems (NHS, Collegiate and
others). Principal activities are developing an informational
and collaborative web site for informing and publishing the
standards, a workshop to inform and gather standards information
and a standards validation phase conducted by each of the partner
organisations.
